Melanie Cox has served as a member of our board of directors since July 2020. She has served as CEO of Backcountry.com LLC since June of 2020 and has served on its board since March 2020. From April 2017 until June 2020 and from April 2009 until April 2015, Cox was founder and CEO of MBC Consulting where she advised private equity firms on retail strategy and diligence and held the Interim CEO role at rue21 and American Laser Skincare. From April 2015 through March 2017, she was Managing Director at private equity firm, Versa Capital Management, where she served as CEO on their behalf at Wet Seal LLC. Prior to Versa Capital Management, she held the CEO role at Scoop NYC from March 2008 to March 2009. From January 2006 through March 2008, Cox was an Operations Executive in private equity at Prentice Capital Management and from July 2004 through February 2006 at Cerberus Capital Management. Prior to Cerberus, she held President and executive level roles at Gymboree, Urban Outfitters, Contempo Casuals, and the Wet Seal.
